Volunteers are being sought to help enhance services at St Davids library.

The Cultural Services department at Pembrokeshire County Council is currently looking for people who would like help increase the opening hours at the service, which is based in the City Hall.

The library is currently open on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 10am to 1pm, and 2pm to 5pm, and these times will be retained.

If enough volunteers come forward, it is hoped that the library could be opened for a further few hours every week.

“The aim is to make St Davids Library more accessible, especially for children and young people,” said Cllr Elwyn Morse, Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport and Leisure.

“The role of the volunteers would include the loan of library resources to members of the public, and provision of IT services.

“Our cultural services team will provide training and ensure that volunteers feel welcomed and supported by other volunteers and staff.”

  • If this volunteer role appeals to you, please contact George Edwards (01437) 776126 or Tracey Johnson (01437) 776638 for an informal discussion or if you prefer, you can leave your contact details with staff at the library and they will be in touch.
