M4 fatal collision: Family tribute to Morgan Power

Morgan’s mother, Claire, and 14 year old brother, Jay, have released the following tribute.

“Morgan was a wonderful and cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, godson, cousin and boyfriend. He was a popular and much loved character within the Milford Haven community and everybody who knew him is in a state of shock. Morgan played both rugby and football for the Milford haven clubs and was also a keen skateboarder. He was following in the footsteps of his idol – his father, Karl – and had just begun an apprenticeship to qualify as a thermal insulation engineer. He was so close to all of his family – we are all heartbroken and will never forget the wonderful, laid back Morgan.“

The fatal road traffic collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 Motorway between junctions 46 Llangyfelach and junction 45 Ynysforgan.  The collision occurred approximately 200 yards after the eastbound on slip at Llangyfelach, and involved a white Peugeot Partner van which subsequently caught fire.

Police are already aware of several vehicles that were in the area at the relevant time, and are checking CCTV but are keen to trace and account for all drivers that were travelling along the M4 junctions 47 to 45 Eastbound (or who joined or left the motorway at junction 47 Penllegaer or 46 Llangyfelach) between 0605 hrs to 0615 hrs, in order to establish a full picture of vehicle movements at the time.
