Llanelli Indoor market joins in with the town’s St David’s Day celebrations

There’s lots going on in Llanelli Indoor market to celebrate our Patron Saint on Tuesday, March 1.
Traders will be getting into the spirit and taking part in the ‘best dressed’ stall competition to be judged on the day.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Côr Curiad and Côr Meibion Llanelli.
There will also be free Cawl tasters and don’t forget to get your copy of Llanelli Market’s Cawl recipe cards.
And Radio Carmarthenshire will be broadcasting live from the market between 10am-1pm.
Menter Cwm Gwendraeth Elli will be holding their first free Welsh session for traders as part of a month-long campaign to help them learn Welsh phrases which are relevant for their businesses.
The sessions will be held every Tuesday in front of the Teapot cafe from 5pm-5.30pm throughout March.
The indoor market has everything you need to celebrate St David’s Day – from traditional Welsh outfits for school children to other Welsh-themed accessories.
And by supporting your local traders you can also pick up good quality, local ingredients at affordable prices – from cheeses, breads, Welshcakes and barabrith to fresh vegetables and meats to make your own Cawl.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member responsible for the markets, Cllr David Jenkins, said: “Llanelli indoor market has all you need to celebrate St David’s Day and by shopping in the market you’re also supporting our great independent businesses. There’s lots going on not only in the market but also in the town to celebrate St David’s Day so it’s well worth a visit!”
