Scarlets Head Coach Wayne Pivac says his side’s defeat to Edinburgh was very frustrating after the region managed to seal such an important victory on the road, in the Guinness PRO12, only a week ago.
Speaking after his side’s 24-23 defeat to Edinburgh, at BT Murrayfield on Sunday 28th February, Pivac said: “It’s very frustrating for us after putting everything into getting a result against Ulster last weekend.
“As we mentioned earlier in the week we knew that Edinburgh would come at us with a big set piece game and would be looking to right their wrongs of a fortnight ago.
“It was a very stop start game from the beginning and a very frustrating afternoon all round.
“We scored three good tries late on in the first half but left too many points out on the park. Edinburgh capitalised on that, changed their defensive patterns in the second half and kicked on to secure the victory.”
Scarlets will travel back to West Wales this evening, Sunday, before taking on Benetton Treviso at Parc y Scarlets on Friday evening.
Pivac went on to say: “We now face a difficult short turnaround ahead of what is a crucial game on Friday night in front of our home crowd. We’ve picked up a few injuries from this afternoon’s game, which we’ll assess further tomorrow.
“Recovery starts immediately for the squad with a pool recovery session before heading to the airport but we have a tough week ahead.”
