Chris Coleman was a winner in the Sport category at the St David Awards.
“I’m extremely proud to have received this reward,” said Wales National Team Manager Chris Coleman, after learning he was the recipient of a St David Award in the Sport category at a ceremony held at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay tonight (10 March).
Coleman continued: “This award is on behalf of the whole squad and the Football Association of Wales. I’m also humbled because there are so many people here at the St David Awards tonight who are a credit to themselves, their families, communities and to Wales.”
The St David Awards annually recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of people in Wales. They acknowledge people who are making a real difference for this country – either at home or abroad.
Coleman was nominated alongside Wales rugby international Dan Biggar and Gareth Bale. The Wales National Team Manager received the award after being recognised for guiding Wales to UEFA EURO 2016 and achieving our highest ever FIFA World Ranking of 8th position.
Chris Coleman will guide Wales in their final home match before EURO 2016 at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday, 24 March against Northern Ireland. Tickets for the Vauxhall International Match can be purchased by clicking here: WALES v NORTHERN IRELAND TICKETS
