Restoration work to the first property in Phase 2 of the Haverfordwest Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) has been completed.

Kent House is a Grade II listed residential property at 13 Market Street and has recently benefitted from a grant to restore the front facade of the building.

These works complement the full restoration to the building’s interior carried out by the owner.

Works designed and undertaken by local architects, builders and craftsmen included:

  • new roof timbers and slates
  • new sliding sash and bay windows
  • repairs to the entrance portico
  • new stone entrance steps
  • new front and cellar doors
  • refurbished railings
  • repaired and repainted front elevation

Kent House is the first of a planned programme of restoration projects to be completed under the Townscape Heritage Initiative which promotes high quality restoration schemes for Haverfordwest town centre and runs until the summer of 2018.

The grant funders to the THI scheme are Pembrokeshire County Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Cadw.
