UKIP’s Health Spokesman, Caroline Jones, says the promise could cost millions, and more needs to be done to train medical professionals in Wales
“The future of the NHS in Wales is dependent upon increased investment needed to train the required numbers of nurses and doctors to enable them to successfully carry out their duties. Patients in Wales need to be assured they will be looked after in their moment of need by a competent, caring and efficient NHS. With increased numbers of nurses on the wards, the one to one care which has sometimes eluded the patient through staff shortages will be much improved upon. However we need support proper training in Wales to cut our dependency on agency staffing and to fund the increased numbers of nurses and permanent staff needed to bring continuity to care. Staff and patient safety is of paramount importance and UKIP will fully support any improvement to our frontline services.”
