Scarlets captain Ken Owens is amongst a strong contingent of internationals returning to the region, following the final weekend of Six Nations action, in time for the West Wales derby against Ospreys on Saturday.

In the remaining five games of the regular PRO12 season Scarlets will face all three Welsh opposition sides in three of the big six derbies, starting this weekend against Ospreys at Liberty Stadium, kick-off 3pm.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s derby captain Ken Owens said; “Last year felt pretty tough; we were fighting for that sixth spot. There are different pressure and different competitiveness for us this year but one we’re looking forward to as a squad.

“It’s nice to be fighting for a place in the play-offs. We have got five very difficult games still to play.

“That’s what’s made the league more competitive. There are teams playing for play-offs, teams trying to qualify for Europe, and I still think it will come down to the last weekend.

“I think it’s up there with one of the most competitive seasons.”

Scarlets return to Parc y Scarlets on Saturday 2nd April to take on Cardiff Blues before the third and final derby against Newport Gwent Dragons at Principality Stadium as part of Judgement Day IV on Saturday 30th April.
