Under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, there are new legal obligations on landlords who have rental property in Wales. These changes to housing legislation have recently been introduced by the Welsh Government and will affect all persons involved in the private renting of residential accommodation.
Huw Williams, Head of Lifestyle Services for Ceredigion County Council said: ““It is now a legal requirement for all landlords to register and for self-managing landlords and managing agents to be licenced and suitably trained. The new registration and licensing scheme will help protect tenants by preventing rogue landlords from managing rental properties.”
Ceredigion County Council will be holding a Rent Smart Wales Forum for all of the county’s landlords and agents on Thursday 14 April 2016 at 5.30pm in The Feathers Royal Hotel, Alban Square, Aberaeron, Ceredigion, SA46 0AQ. Registration will be from 5pm, with parking available at Aberaeron Comprehensive School.
