Keep Wales Tidy

Clean Coast Week 2016 will be upon us soon, and there are events taking place all over Carmarthenshire.

The main event will take place on Cefn Sidan beach as it has done in previous years, and will be on Monday 25th April. It starts at 10am, but we are asking that people start coming from around 9.30am as the event has proved very popular in the past, and that way we can get all the kit given out to achieve a 10am start. Unfortunately this year we have not been able to secure funding to provide a buffet after the cleanup as in previous years. More information about the event can be found in the April events list attached.

Then on Tuesday 26th we will be in Ferryside for a coastal cleanup. Again, more information is on the attached list.

We are in the process of arranging more events in partnership with the Millennium Coast Park staff as we speak, and they will be posted on the facebook page (link below) when confirmed, but it looks likely that they will be:

26th – Llanelli beach.

28th – Pembrey Burrows.

29th – Burry Port beach.

Or twitter –

If you wish to join in with an event, it may be a good idea to contact Dan: daniel.snaith@keepwalestidy.org or Brian: KBMogford@carmarthenshire.gov.uk beforehand.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETING POINTS ON SOME OF THE MAP LINKS ARE WHERE THE ARROW IS POINTING, NOT POINT A.

You are welcome to stay for the duration of any event or any time you can give will be greatly received. For all day events (those that continue after 12pm), please bring lunch as we don’t provide this, and the work locations are often not near food outlets / shops.

If you arrive after the designated start time, please ring 07824 504805 or 07887 932066 when you arrive in case we have moved on to a different part of the site, or come and look for us.

End times are just a guide and events / work days may end earlier if the job is finished.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Most events are open to all but where those state they are unsuitable for children, then that applies to anyone 16 and under. If it states unsuitable for young children, that applies to anyone 10 and under.

You are covered under Keep Wales Tidy / community group insurance while at these events.

Please dress sensibly to suit the weather conditions on the day. Suitable footwear should also be worn (not sandals / flip flops, formal shoes); safety boots are ideal, but anything fairly rugged will be acceptable.

For more information contact Dan: daniel.snaith@keepwalestidy.org or phone 07824 504805, or Brian: KBMogford@carmarthenshire.gov.uk or phone 07887 932066.

Please feel free to circulate this list around your contacts.
