Ysgol Gynradd Llantrisant will play Ysgol Gynradd Castell Nedd at Principality Stadium tomorrow (Wednesday) and Ysgol Gyfun y Gwyr play Llanishen High in the first of a series of six schools and youth finals days to complete the Welsh rugby season.

It will be the third appearance in four years for Ysgol Castell Nedd, while Llanishen High are hoping to make it three titles in a row. The Cardiff school will carry the favourite tag after beating a series of rugby heavyweights. They overcame Cardiff High, Brynteg and Glantaf before seeing off Treorchy Comprehensive 38-14 in the semi-final at Cardiff Arms Park.

Ysgol y Gwyr beat Olchfa in Round One before drawing with both Queen Elizabeth High and Bro Dinefwr, going through as the away side. They beat Ysgol y Strade 15-13 in their semi to secure their place at Principality Stadium.

There is free entry for tomorrow’s games with the Primary School Final kicking off at 12.30pm, and the Welsh Schools U18 Final taking place at 2.30pm. The Welsh Schools U18 Final will be shown live on s4c.cymru with highlights shown later on Rygbi Pawb.

There is also free entry next Wednesday (20 April), when Principality Stadium hosts the WRU U18 Wednesday League Final with longstanding rivals Coleg y Cymoedd  and Coleg Sir Gar playing Coleg Gwent and Cowbridge Comprehensive in their respective semi-finals tomorrow (Wednesday 13 April) in a bid to return to the home of Welsh rugby. Coleg y Cymoedd are current champions with Coleg Sir Gar winning the previous two campaigns but Cowbridge and Coleg Gwent will attempt to put a stop to that run of events at the semi-final stage.

The DC Thomas Cup final will kick off the day’s rugby at 12 noon with the WRU U18 Wednesday League Final at 2.30pm. Bridgend Schools have already secured a place in the DC Thomas Cup final with Cardiff playing Islwyn at Ystrad Mynach on Thursday (5.30) to determine the other finalist.

The culmination of the youth league season takes place on Saturday 23 April. Cowbridge play Cardiff Met in the Cup Final, Gowerton play Brynmawr in the Plate Final and Newport HSOB play the winner of Burry Port v Pontarddulais.

Women and girls take centre stage on Bank Holiday Monday 2 May with the Women’s Senior Sevens and East v West U18 before the schools return for U14 and U16 Schools Finals on Tuesday 3 May and the Dewar Shield and DC Thomas Cup Final on Wednesday 4 May.
