Scarlets’ Hadleigh Parkes started all of the region’s twenty Guinness PRO12 games this season, has missed only two competitive games, and is hoping to finish the season on a high giving supporters a great send off.

With home defeat’s to Cardiff Blues and Glasgow Warriors in recent weeks the Scarlets will need to secure victories over Newport Gwent Dragons and Munster in the remaining games of the regular PRO12 season.

Parkes says that the region’s penultimate game of the season, against Newport Gwent Dragons at the Principality Stadium, will be a great occasion.

“I think it’s a great advert for Welsh rugby and also the PRO12. You love playing in front of big crowds like that and I’m sure they’ll be looking forward to two good games and if we can put on two pretty open games I don’t see any reason why it can’t keep getting bigger and bigger.”

“We’re very lucky that we’ve got a great bunch of supporters and hopefully we can give them a great sign off.”

With it all to do in the last two games of the season Parkes went on to say; “We have to go forward against the Dragons next weekend and hopefully put on a performance like Glasgow did against us for our supporters.

“We’re kind of chasing now. Obviously pretty disappointing for us because we have had a pretty good season, this puts a bit of a dampener on it. There’s still a chance for us to make it. Results have to go our way and we have two tough games. We can be in control of those controllables but we have hope on other teams to do us a favour aswell.

“We will be going for two wins. You have to win the game before you go for the bonus point. Get the win against the Dragons, they’re a good side, they’ve been pretty unlucky with a lot of narrow defeats this year. First of all get the win against them and push for the bonus point if we get that opportunity during the game.”
