With eighteen international caps to his name Scarlets lock Jake Ball is no stranger to electrifying atmospheres and huge crowds at the Principality Stadium and he says that Judgement Day is the closest players will get to that experience.

Speaking exclusively to Rugby World magazine Ball previewed his side’s huge Welsh derby clash against Newport Gwent Dragons at the Principality Stadium on Saturday 30th April.

He said: “Judgement Day is the closest you’re going to get to playing in an international game and for our young players it’s invaluable experience.

“We know so many of the boys from the Wales. It’s a real day out for players and the fans.”

Scarlets’ opposition at Judgement Day were defeated by French side Montpellier on the weekend in the semi final of the European Challenge Cup but Ball believes they will be a formidable force.

“They’re extremely difficult to break down, they have plenty of talent in the shape of Taulupe Faletau, Hallam Amos and Tyler Morgan.

“The game against the Dragons is vitally important for the league. We cut the season down into blocks and set ourselves targets, one of which was to make the play-offs.

“We want to win but play in a style befitting of the Scarlets. I can’t wait to get out there.”
