WELSH MUSIC TALENT LUNA RAE GET BIG BREAK AS VODAFONE BIG TOP 40 FUTURE BREAKER

Barmouth based Beth Wyn-Jones is celebrating winning Vodafone’s Future Breakers monthly competition as part of singer-songwriting duo Luna Rae, along with her bandmate Myra Mwang’ombe. Winning the competition has given the unsigned 20 year old a fantastic platform to launch her budding music career. The Future Breakers initiative, launched this year as part of the Vodafone Big Top 40 partnership with Global, offers Luna Rae the money-can’t-buy chance to record and produce their single ‘Running for You’ with industry professionals, as well as having the live session broadcast online with the Vodafone Big Top 40.

The fresh faced pop double act, who met at university, were keen singers as children and mainly performed on social media before getting their big break with Vodafone Future Breakers.  With inspirations from the likes of Beyoncé, Rhianna and Michael Jackson, the girls hope this will be a stepping stone to something bigger as they plan an EP release in the summer. 

On Luna Rae’s experience with Vodafone Future Breakers, Beth commented; “I started playing piano aged 6 and singing at age 11, so it’s been a childhood dream and absolutely incredible to be given the chance to record our live song. Our music is very much a collaboration of the two of us as very different people so completely reflects us, and being given the opportunity by Vodafone and Global to then share this has been amazing.”

Fronted by the Vodafone Big Top 40’s very own Marvin Humes, Vodafone Future Breakers is continuing the search for the very best unsigned talent from across the UK to uncover the next big thing in music or ‘future breaker’.  Listeners, budding artists and band members can enter their tracks/videos through the dedicated hub where they could win a recording studio session with a top industry producer!
