10 Questions with ‘On The Day’

1 Tell us about yourselves, (Names and role in the band)

Hi we’re On the Day and atm we’re a four piece band, awaiting a bassist! There’s Stu- lead singer, Jon – lead guitarist, Rich – rhythm guitarist and John on drums

2 How long has the band been together?

Been together roughly 2 years

3 What are your musical influences?

I’d say mainly punk rock

4 What is it about your band that makes you different to others?

We have a Jon Roberts!

5 What plans have you got for the rest of 2016?

To gig hell of a lot more!

6 Are there any funny stories behind why a particular song was written?

Our first song had to be written and recorded within 2 weeks, and the main thing we had in common back then was getting really drunk, hence why the song is about waking up in bushes!

7 Are there any messages you are trying to get across in the music?

Just to have a laugh and a good time.

8 What are the downsides/upsides of being in the band?

Downsides trying to get together regularly.. Upsides getting on stage and having a class time bruv.

9 What can people who come out to see you at a gig expect?

An energetic gig, with a couple of originals but at the moment all your favourite punk songs.
