Caerphilly RFC, the home of South Wales Scorpions, will host the Welsh Champion Schools Finals this Thursday 5th May.

The day will also see the launch of Embed the Pathway, the free open access fully inclusive programme that forms the first steps on the WRL Talent Development pathway. The Scorpions, working closely with Wales Rugby League and the Rugby Football League, are bringing the programme into Wales for the first time.

Wales Rugby League’s National Development Manager, Idris Evans, said: “We have four games on Thursday, having already crowned Ystalyfera Year 7 Champions back in January after overcoming a strong Glantaf performance.

“Special thanks go out to all our volunteers and referees whose efforts are very much appreciated. Wales Rugby League would also like to thank Caerphilly RFC and the South Wales Scorpions for the loan of Virginia Park, it’s a great venue and no doubt will serve us well.”

A big day of events begins at 10.30am.
