Car parking offer for Premier League fixtures

Swans fans have the chance to park closer to the Liberty Stadium than ever before when the next Premier League season kicks-off in August.

Swansea Council is making match day car parking passes available at the Landore park and ride site for all 19 home games against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

A £99 first come, first served offer for the car parking pass is available until Friday July 22, which works out at about £5.20 a match.

The council’s commercial team is behind the offer.

Chris Williams, Head of Commercial Services, said: “We first launched this scheme for the 2014/2015 Premier League season and despite its success, there are still many spaces available for Swans fans at the Landore park and ride site.

“Not only does this scheme give fans convenient parking just over the road from the stadium on Premier League match days, but it also helps the council generate income. This is especially important at a time when we’re facing a major budget deficit and need to be as innovative as possible to protect services for residents.

“Only one pass per car will be allocated as part of the scheme, so we hope this will also reduce traffic close to the stadium on match days by encouraging car sharing.

“Now that the Swans have again guaranteed Premier League safety, this is an ideal time to plan ahead and make sure you have got a parking spot closer to the action than ever before by the time the next season kicks-off in August.”

Subject to availability, anyone who applies for a pass by the deadline will receive it by the end of July.

Cup games aren’t included in the offer, but the Landore park and ride site will be open for those fixtures too.
