CETMA, a volunteer led social enterprise based in Llanelli is once again organising Llanelli LGBT Day.
The event is part of the organisation’s Awards for All Wales grant funded Llanelli LGBT Support.
Llanelli LGBT support involves engaging with the LGBT community, increasing volunteers and training people in new skills.
Keith Evans, a CETMA Project Manager said:
“As last year’s LGBT Day was such a success, we’re organising a slightly bigger event for this year.”
“There’ll be rides, Vintage Falls Pop Up Events are organising stalls, there’s a bouncy castle, activities for children and live music.”
“We’d like to create a bit of a summer carnival atmosphere and to get as many people involved as possible.”
“We’re looking for volunteers to help out on the day and bands to come along and play for the crowds.”
“The day is about everyone coming together to raise awareness about how far Carmarthenshire and Wales has come and how far it has to go in regards to equality and to celebrate achievements in the areas of LGBT.”
The Llanelli LGBT Support Project aims to set up a regular drop in session for LGBTs, give Llanelli LGBTs the ability to comment via all platforms, increase LGBT community participation, and publicise Llanelli LGBT Support via attendance at events.
