WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre  events for Wales Biodiversity Week:

 

Duckery Tours (4th and 5th of June):

Runs throughout the half term holidays and in to the first weekend of WBW.

Includes three tours a day of our duckling nursery. Behind the scenes tours which allow the public to get close experiences with ducklings and witness the egg to duckling process.

 

Weekend Family Activities ( 11th and 12th of June):

Days full of activities, including –

11am – 12pm Minibeast hunt and Mini pond dipping

1pm Flamingo talk

1pm – 2pm Flamingo watch with telescope

2.30pm Pond dipping

Craft workshops (times vary)

 

Veggie Patch Kids (5th of June, 11am-12pm):

Sunday morning activity for children to get involved in creating and maintaining a wildlife friendly garden.

 

Monday Munchkins (6th of June, 11am-12pm):

Monday morning activity for pre-school toddlers which includes bug themed activities, exploring nature and wildlife or nature themed crafts.

 

Guide in the Boardwalk Hide (6th-10th of June, 2-3pm):

Weekday activity – a guide will be on hand in our Boardwalk Hide between 2-3pm as a special WBW event. The Boardwalk Hide sits alongside our lagoon where hundreds of black headed gulls breed every year.

 

Walk with the Warden (9th of June):

Thursday morning. The walk lasts around an hour and a half and takes the public through our millennium wetlands where our wardens are on hand to highlight any wildlife and biodiversity that can been seen or heard. They are also able to answer any questions and talk about the vital conservation work which is carried out in the reserve.

 

Bat Walk (10th of June, 9pm):

Friday night walk around our reserve and grounds, using detectors to identify the different bat species which populate our wetlands. Booking is essential for this event and price of event includes an hour walk and biscuits and a hot drink on return to the centre.
