Applications are being invited for two new multi million pound funds that will assist businesses and commercial property developers to help create top quality business premises and new job opportunities in Carmarthenshire.

The £6.6m Transformational Commercial Property Development Fund Scheme will enable developers, investors and land owners to meet the financial gap between the construction costs and the completed market value of the property.

The incentive on offer is aimed to stimulate the supply of high quality business premises within Carmarthenshire by offering funding towards high quality industrial units or office accommodation.

Carmarthenshire County council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “The principal aim of the Transformational Commercial Development Fund is to increase the availability of high quality business premises in the target areas by addressing market failure.

“The project will provide financial assistance to developers to bridge the gap between the cost of providing commercial property and its subsequent market value.”

The £4.4m Carmarthenshire Rural Enterprise Fund Scheme will provide assistance to enterprises and sole traders for the development of new and existing business premises in the rural area of the county, where new jobs are created as a result of the project.

Carmarthenshire County Council Leader Cllr Emlyn Dole said: “The main aim of the Rural Enterprise fund is to create employment opportunities in the rural area of the county through the development of high quality business premises.”
