The Aquasplash toddlers’ pool will be ready for the Whitsun bank holiday following maintenance works over the past few weeks.
The Aquasplash is a favourite venue for families attracting crowds in hot weather. It is just one of the many facilities along the beachfront which Neath Port Talbot Council has provided to cater for all ages in the community.
Other attractions along the beachfront include the redesigned sunken gardens, new children and toddlers play equipment, skateboard ramps, improved signage and shelter facilities and the £13m Aberavon Leisure and Fitness Centre. In addition to this an adventure golf course is currently under construction and is due to be completed in readiness for the summer holidays.
These amenities have in turn seen new private investment in the area with the redevelopment and expansion of a number of food outlets serving visitors to the seafront.
Gareth Nutt, Director of Environment said, “The aqua-splash facility has been very well used over the last few years and this maintenance work will help the Council to be sure that the facility is ready for the summer where, once again, I am sure it will be a big hit with the children of the county borough.
“The investment we have made in the seafront has led to Aberavon Beach once again receiving the Keep Wales Tidy Seaside Award proving popular with visitors all year round”.
