Pembrey Country Park and the Millennium Coastal Park attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.

Although the vast majority respect their surroundings, a minority of people cause mess or problems.

They are now being asked to follow the rules to ensure that the parks are a safe and pleasant environment for everyone.

Incidents which have caused concern include unauthorised camping or fishing; lighting fires; dog fouling; littering; and anti-social behaviour.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member for leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “We are blessed with having the most beautiful coast and countryside at both Pembrey and Llanelli, and we are asking people to help us keep it that way.

“There is a small minority of visitors who cause problems, whether it’s lighting a fire in the woods or dropping litter on the beach.

“We would appeal to them to respect their environment to ensure the parks can be enjoyed by all visitors.”

  • Anyone who witnesses incidents at the MCP or PCP can report it to park staff, to the council online at i-Local, or call police on 101.
