A man has been fined for failing to clean up after his dog in Coopers Road, Capel Hendre.

Environmental enforcement officers were on patrol in the area at the time of the offence.

He was issued with a fixed penalty notice for £75.

Failure to pay could lead to prosecution in the magistrates court where the maximum fine is £1,000.

Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “The majority of dog owners are responsible and clean up after their pets; however those that don’t will be fined by officers.

“Dog mess can lead to serious health risks if left as well as being extremely unpleasant.”

Officers carry out patrols across the county, particularly in ‘hotspot’ areas reported by the public.
