Awards recognition for Scarlets

Scarlets has been named amongst a prestigious list of nominees for the inaugural Sports Business Wales Awards to be held in the autumn.

The Sports Business Wales Awards will celebrate the inter-relationships between sport, business and society in Wales.

The inaugural awards evening will showcase the very best examples of how sports’ sponsors, rights holders and broadcasters are driving growth and enabling change. Business leaders and sporting professionals will recognise those leading the way and setting new benchmarks for the industry.

Scarlets and Scarlets’ Education Tours have been shortlisted as finalists for ‘Best Use of Social Media’ and ‘Community Programme of the Year’ respectively.

The bilingual approach to engagement with supporters across social media platforms, something that is rarely seen elsewhere in elite sport in Wales, sees the region shortlisted for a ‘Best Use of Social Media’ award whilst the region’s ingenuity in combining education programmes with stadium tours, making them that much more engaging for young people is up for Community Programme of the Year.

The awards are produced by the creators of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and the Entrepreneur Wales Awards, and will culminate in a gathering of 300 senior sports and business leaders at the Principality Stadium in November 2016. The judging process itself brings together an exciting combination of industry experts and public voting, with our judging panel including Joe Calzaghe CBE, Martyn Phillips, CEO of the Welsh Rugby Union, and Christian Malcolm, former Olympian Athlete, amongst others.
