Two projects to be launched at Summer Funday!

CETMA is pleased to announce that it will be launching 2 new projects at an event to be held on Thursday 28th July 2016 in Dafen Pond.

Trixie Evans, Wildlife Watch Coordinator said:

“It will be great way to start the summer holidays!”

The Wildlife Walks Pups Club will encourage children and their parents to leave their laptops and games and go out into the local area around them and learn about the environment and wildlife.

The children and their parents will learn about the local wildlife around them, the environment and what hazards humans are causing it and also get fit and healthy.

The sessions will take place in the school holidays and will involve walks, trips for pond dipping, wildlife spotting and indoor activities such education, badge making and recycling materials. The project starts on Tuesday 26th July and will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer holidays.

“We’ll be holding a wildlife summer funday to launch our Pups Club and Wildlife Watch Litter Pickers projects.”

“The events is free and there’ll be rides, a large slide, fair stalls, gift stalls, children’s workshops, and environment organisations will be attending.”

The Wildlife Watch Litter Pickers project sees a group of volunteers teaming up to tackle litter hot spots throughout the area and cleaning them up.

The project coordinator, Trixie Evans has been cleaning Dafen Pond with a hard core group of fellow Wildlife Watch litter pickers for the past year. They regularly collect about 5 rubbish bags and other bits and pieces which is collected by the Council in an arrangement.

Trixie said;

“We’re looking for people from all walks of life to come and help us and to stay fit and learn new skills.”

Providing Social Engagement, Training, Health & Wellbeing through the development of unique sustainable projects for individuals, organisations & businesses.

Any surpluses that the company makes will be ploughed back into the aims of the company.
