Llanelli Mind staff and volunteers to hike Snowdon

Staff and volunteers from local mental health charity Llanelli Mind will hike Mount Snowdon on 2 July to raise funds for its support services.

The organisation is affiliated to the national charity Mind but is completely autonomous and must raise its own funds in order to survive. The hike has been organised as part of the charity’s 30th anniversary celebrations which are taking place throughout 2016.

 

Andre McPherson, Chair of Llanelli Mind, is taking part in the hike. He said: “Llanelli Mind has played a vital role in the community for three decades, offering supporting to people with mental ill health. The services we provide from range from counselling to creative therapies, befriending to benefits advice, and many other activities in between. Fundraising initiatives such as this mean we can continue providing this support to some of the most vulnerable people across Carmarthenshire.”

 

Also taking part in the hike are: Jen Caton, Gemma Staley, Anna Davies, Helen Jones, Steffan Morgan, Molly Jenkins, Nikki Oles, Liz Wilkinson, Maureen Evans, Wendy King, James King, and Rod Bowen.
