A Pembrokeshire based artist and tattoo artist certainly ensured that friends and family who attended his 50th birthday party at Manorbier Castle had a night to remember.
Lee ‘Trashcan’ Minton had always told friends he was going to celebrate his 50th birthday in style, so when he hired a castle for the occasion everyone arrived just expecting a great birthday party. However, within an hour of friends and family arriving at Manorbier Castle, Lee proposed to his partner Kazzy, a Social Work Manager for the NSPCC based in Swansea, much to the surprise and delight of everyone present. The 100 guests, some of whom had travelled from London, Birmingham, Hampshire and New Zealand, were then stunned to be invited into the beautiful castle chapel and witness the wedding of Lee and Kazzy.
Birmingham born Lee, who has been based at Foreverarts Tattoo Studio on Main Street in Pembroke for the the past 14 years, and has over twenty years of tattooing experience, was delighted by the response from family and friends.
“Everyone was just so pleased and happy for us and Manorbier Castle was just the most perfect setting for our surprise wedding.” said Lee.
The couple, who have been together for three years, had managed to keep the wedding a complete secret from everyone around them.
“We just wanted a relaxed and stress-free wedding where our friends and family didn’t have to worry about anything apart from enjoying themselves. Everything was completely perfect on the day and even the sun shone on us!” said Kazzy.
The party and wedding had a rockabilly theme, with live music provided by Pembrokeshire based band The Tinplate Tigerz, an ice-cream cart provided by Stefano’s Ice Cream of Ammanford, and drinks and street-style food provided by Phil Kidney of The Castle Inn, Manorbier. The groom wore a suit hand-made by his wife, and the bride wore a 50’s inspired, tea-length gown and Irregular Choice shoes.
The couple honeymooned in New York and Wildwood, New Jersey.
