CETMA, a volunteer led social enterprise based in Llanelli is all set to once again organise Llanelli LGBT Day. The event is part of the organisation’s Awards for All Wales grant funded Llanelli LGBT Support.
Llanelli LGBT support involves engaging with the LGBT community, increasing volunteers and training people in new skills.
Keith Evans, a CETMA Project Manager said:
“This year, thanks to Owen’s Transport we have a stage and will have live music from Sherilyn Hamilton Shaw, Oblong, and The Big Fat Blues Band will be doing an extra show.”
“We’ve also got lots of organisations attending to show their support plus a child’s ride, bouncy castle, Communities First are putting on workshops for children and RED Fitness will be doing a Zumba demonstration .”
“We’re still looking for volunteers to help out on the day and you don’t have to be LGBT to get involved.”
“The day is about everyone coming together to Carmarthenshire and Wales has come and how far it has to go in regards to raise awareness about how far equality and to celebrate achievements in the areas of LGBT.”
Llanelli LGBT Day is being on Saturday 6th August in Llanelli’s Spring Gardens next to the Jobcentre. It’s FREE entry and starts at 11 with a speech by Nia Griffith, Llanelli’s MP.
