If you like to have fun, have a sense of adventure and want to help young people, being a Youth Justice Volunteer might be the right opportunity for you.

Ceredigion County Council Youth Justice and Prevention Service proactively works with young people who are at risk of anti-social behaviour and/or may commit a crime.

As a volunteer you will act as a positive role model to young people and develop valuable skills and capabilities to take forward into your life. You will have a confident and engaging manner and be enthusiastic in order to support young people during structured activities throughout the week, engaging in music, drama, dance, photography, mountain biking and some amazing outdoor activities.

Councillor Hag Harris, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Learning Services, Children and Young People’s Partnership said: “This is an incredible rewarding role for the right person.  Ideally, you will have a positive, relaxed and calm attitude to life, you will be trustworthy, honest and non-judgemental. The ability to build positive relationships with young people and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability is essential to be considered for the role.”

So, if you can spare a minimum of three hours per week for the next 12 months, the Youth Justice and Prevention Service would love to hear from you.  You will need to have your own transport, and all your travel expenses will be covered by the Youth Justice Service.
