Torfaen Tigers face arguably their toughest home game of the season this Saturday as they host London Chargers at Cwmbran RFC (kick-off 2.30pm).

A win for the Tigers will put them one step further to sealing a play-off spot but it will be tough against London, who will want to win to go back to the top of the table.

Tigers’ coach Kyle Scrivens said: “We’ve hit a bit of form lately but know that every minute matters now if we want to make the play offs. We’ve worked hard and it’s in our own hands now.

“We are under no illusions that London are probably the best organised and structured side in the competition, the heavy defeat at their place is fresh in the minds so we are desperate to put that right.”

WELSH CONFERENCE PLAY-OFFS

As we rapidly approach the South Wales Conference finals day on Saturday 13th of August, the play-offs this weekend will determine who will meet each other at Virginia Park in Caerphilly.

Aber Valley Wolves have already qualified for the under 13 and senior finals and they could take on Bridgend Blue Bulls in both of those games.

In the under 13 semi-final in Cwmbran this Sunday, Torfaen Tigers host the Bulls, whilst the day before, the Bulls’ first team, champions for the past two seasons, host Cardiff City RL at Pyle RFC (kick-off 2pm).

This is likely to be a very close game as both sides have turned each other over once this season and with a final at stake, Pyle RFC will see a classic game on Saturday afternoon.

The scores are one each between these two sides this season with Cardiff winning 48-32 in the capital and Bridgend getting their revenge 32-20 at home later in the regular season.

The under 15s league sees two play-offs taking place this Sunday with league leaders, South Wales Rabbitohs hosting Aber Valley Wolves at Pontyclun RFC whilst runners up Torfaen Tigers welcoming West Wales Raiders to Cwmbran.

At under 17s, Cardiff City RL and Torfaen Tigers will go straight to the final on the 13th of August and play off to see who will finish top of the pile.
