Ceredigion County Council has been working in partnership with the European Recycling platform (ERP) in order to provide additional recycling facilities for recycling small electrical items.
You may have noticed that there has been a recycling bank for small electrical items at County Hall in Aberaeron for some time. This bank was placed on a trial basis and has been so popular, a decision was made to expand the scheme across the county to other County Council libraries and cash offices.
From August 2016 recycling banks for small electrical items will be placed in libraries and Council cash offices across Ceredigion. The banks can be used for all your small electrical items such as a hair dryer, kettle, mobile phone and an iron.
Councillor Alun Williams, Cabinet Member for Transport, Waste and Carbon Management, said: “Electrical goods contain a range of recyclable materials, some of which can pollute water and soil if not disposed of properly. People like to recycle and the easier we make it the more it helps everyone. Placing these bins in libraries and council offices around the county will help us increase our recycling rates still further and minimise pollution.”
By working with ERP, the Council has been able to provide these facilities at no cost, which is great for everyone, so what are you waiting for? Get recycling with Ceredigion County Council
