Seven candidates are contesting the county council seat in the Cil-y-Cwm by-election taking place on September 22.

The seven candidates are:

- Thomas Davies, Independent
- Steven Holmes, Welsh Conservative Party
- Catherine Nakielny, Welsh Liberal Democrats
- Matthew Paul, Independent
- Jacqui Thompson, People First – Fighting for the Community
- Dayfdd Tomos, Plaid Cymru
More information about the election and further details about the candidates are available at the county council website.
Results of the by-election will be announced on the council newsroom, on its Facebook page and Twitter feed.
