South Wales Scorpions’ final home game of the season, this Sunday against Hemel Stags, has been moved location to Blackwood RFC (kick-off 3pm).

Last weekend, Caerphilly RFC, Scorpions’ regular home ground, hosted Megaday, their annual club fundraiser. Unfortunately, the day of the event saw prolonged heavy rain and as a result the pitch sustained substantial damage through use of walkways and vehicles being driven over the pitch. Some remedial works have been carried out, but it has been confirmed that it’s highly unlikely the pitch will be of an acceptable standard to host professional rugby league.

As a result, Sunday’s final home game of the season against Hemel Stags will now take place at Blackwood RFC with kick off time remaining at 3pm.

It won’t be the first time Blackwood have hosted Scorpions games as two games took place there during the 2014 season.

The club are grateful to Blackwood chairman Roger Moore and the rest of the committee for agreeing to stage the game at such short notice.

Admission prices remain at £8 adults, £5 concessions and £1 for juniors and can be bought at www.scorpionsrl.com.
