A six-week trial to open St Davids library on Saturday mornings over the summer holidays – in addition to its usual opening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays – has been so successful that it is to be extended.
The library has opened on Saturdays between 10am and 12pm with the help of its local team of volunteers and as word has spread, it has got increasingly busy.
As a result, the library has decided to extend the trial until 29thOctober and it will review whether to continue to open on Saturdays after that date.
“This is dependent on how busy the library is on Saturday mornings – so we would encourage St Davids residents to please use the services and support our volunteers,” said Cllr Elwyn Morse, Cabinet Member for Cultural, Sport and Leisure.
St Davids library is also open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 1pm, and 2pm and 5pm.
Customers are currently able to return, borrow and reserve books and use the public access computer during all sessions.
If a library volunteer role appeals to you, please contact the Operations Manager North, George Edwards at george.edwards@pembrokeshire.gov.uk or phone (01437) 776126 for more information.
