A Pembrokeshire County Council consultation on future options in the delivery of leisure, culture and tourism services in the county is to be extended by four weeks.

The consultation opened on 15th August and was originally due to end on 16th September.

However, in response to a request from UNISON to extend the consultation period, a new deadline has been set of 14th October.

The consultation is asking members of the public for their views on alternative ways of delivering leisure, culture and tourism services in the face of unprecedented budget reductions over the next few years.

Five public meetings have already taken place and a further meeting is to be held on Monday (12thSeptember) at Pembroke Dock Library from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The public meetings have formed just part of the consultation process.

Another way to participate is to visit the Council’s website at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay

Alternatively, ring the County Council’s Customer Service Centre on 01437 764551 and ask for a hard copy of the consultation to be posted to you.

The new deadline for responses is Friday, 14th October.

UNISON representatives have also been invited to give their views on the proposals at the Council’s Policy Overview and Scrutiny Committee, which will be meeting on 13th October.
