All eyes will be on Llanelli’s Ffwrnes Theatre tonight when goodwill and community spirit will be celebrated in the first ever Tenant 2 Tenant Awards.
The awards have been organised by Carmarthenshire County Council in association with Spice, and will reward those who go the extra mile to look after their homes and communities.
There are 14 awards up for grabs – many of them will go to volunteers who give their own time to help others.
Categories include Young Tenant of the Year, Community Project of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award. There are also categories for best kept garden and grand designs, amongst others.
The awards will be hosted by Cllr Linda Evans, Executive Board Member for Housing.
“We’re looking forward to celebrating the good work that goes on in our communities every day – ordinary people that go the extra mile to help make the lives of other people better,” she said.
The awards have been supported by Communities First Carmarthenshire, Carmarthenshire Markets, LTC Mobility, TAD Builders, WCS Environmental & Building Maintenance, Towy Projects Ltd and Jenkins Bakery.
We’ll be sharing results on Twitter @CarmsCouncil and on facebook.com/carmarthenshirecc and facebook.com/CarmsTimeCredits using #T2TAwards2016.
