Llanelli’s BNI Business Network host first awards dinner

Llanelli’s busy BNI business network members will be hosting their first awards dinner on Friday.
It is being held at 7.30pm on Friday, November 18, at The Diplomat Hotel, Llanelli.
“It will be a great networking occasion, a fun and entertaining night and a great opportunity to recognise the achievements of our members,” said Llanelli BNI Endeavour Chapter chairman Paul Williams.
“Very importantly, it is an evening open to the whole of the business community in and around Llanelli, not just members of the BNI, Business Network International, team.
“Our members play a key role in the community in the Llanelli area and we’d like to see as many businesses as possible represented at the dinner.”
The format and running order for the night will be as follows: 
• Arrival 7.30 PM 
• Three-course dinner 8.00 PM 
• Awards presentation 9.20 PM 
• ‘Dusty Road’ cabaret duo 9.45 PM
The ‘Dusty Road’ duo are one of the most in-demand cabaret acts in Wales today.
There will also be a few surprises that will add to the occasion and make this a night to remember. 
The cost for the evening is £20 per person and tickets are limited
Tickets can be obtained from BNI Llanelli members or from vice-chairman Gareth Isaac  of G I Carpets and Flooring in Burry Port.
There will be three award categories on the night.
The dress code is smart but not black tie.
The current team at the top for Llanelli BNI is made up of two very well-known businessmen, from Llanelli and Burry Port.
Paul Williams, of Llanelli-based Paul’s Plastering and damp proofing, is the BNI group’s president and his vice-president is Gareth Isaac, of G I Carpets and Flooring.
Mr Williams said: “It’s a great honour and privilege to be in the big chair on the top table at BNI in Llanelli.
“I have been a member of BNI now for many years and can give a glowing testimonial for how it really means business for independent tradesmen, craftsmen, sole traders and small businesses in Llanelli.
“We all work very hard to grow our businesses and the BNI business network provides us with very fertile soil to bring further growth into the local economy.
“It is estimated that each seat (member position) is worth £14,000 on average a year to that local business. We are a small but creative local business group and it is estimated that we earned more than £430,000 in additional revenue for members last year.”
The Llanelli BNI Chapter has its sights set on bigger targets and is looking for new members.
The busy Thursday morning club meets at The Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli.
It’s an early 6.45am start – but these are men and women who are keen to make the most of their working days and are rewarded accordingly.
The key to BNI membership is that no two businesses in the BNI are allowed to be in the same category, so you get a mix which can be as varied as the proverbial butcher, baker and candlestick maker.
In Llanelli, the membership includes a plasterer, carpenter, accountant, electrician, plumber, IT support consultant, a roofer, plumber, insurance broker, financial advisor, web designer, tiler, garden maintenance and a fencing contractor.
