WINSTON GIVES HIS FULL BACKING TO SEAN AND GEORGE…

Plaid Cymru County Councillor Winston Lemon has decided to stand down as Glanymor County Councillor at next May’s Local Council Elections on health grounds. Winston however will be standing for re-election onto Llanelli Town Council.

Sean Rees and George Herbert have been selected by Plaid Cymru to stand in the Glanymor area which covers Seaside, New Dock, North Dock, Morfa and Machynys.

Cllr Winston Lemon said:

“It’s been a privilege to be your County Councillor for the past 8 years. During this time, I’ve always taken every opportunity to stand up for our community. I’ve worked hard and helped hundreds of people in our area with a range of local issues.

“Next May, you now have the opportunity to elect two new hard-working candidates. Sean’s and George’s local roots put them best placed to serve our community, they have my full support. I know they will fight really hard in the County Council to improve services for our area. They simply won’t take no for an answer!”

Sean Rees added:

“Born and bred in the community, I, like you can see the challenges that we face every day in our area. This is not as good as it gets. Our communities are too often forgotten about because we’re taken for granted. Enough is enough!

“I currently work as an Admin Secretary and Campaigns Manager. I’ve taken the decision to stand as I want to see residents having more of a say on the issues that matter to us. We need to safeguard jobs and build our economy, tackle crime in the area as well as protect our public services like our cherished NHS and education. I’ll base my entire campaign around your day to day experiences.

“I’m determined to play my part and give you, your family and our community the strong voice that we deserve. I’m on your side”

George Herbert added:

“I have lived in Wales for nearly 20 years and have lived in the Glanymor ward for 3 years. I’ve been a soldier in our armed forces and have previously run a building company. I’ve done some presenting on T.V, appearing in DIY programmes such as ‘Tools Stories’ on Channel 4 and ‘Painting By Numbers’ on the BBC.

“I want to help local people and fight for the causes which can make our area a better place to live in. I’ve decided to stand for Plaid Cymru because I believe it is the only party that can make a real difference here in Llanelli.”
