A simple appeal for Easter Eggs from Action for Children to distribute to services helping children and their families in South Wales has produced an amazing response with nearly 500 eggs of every variety arriving at their Cardiff HQ.
The eggs have now been distributed to services from Swansea to Newport giving families a lovely Easter surprise ahead of the holiday weekend.
The appeal was put out across Action for Children social media channels by Head of Inclusion, Siobhan Corria. She said: ‘The generosity of the public has been tremendous once again. I never thought we’d get anywhere near 500 Easter Eggs in such a short time but people and businesses have responded brilliantly as they did with the St David’s Christmas toy appeal.
‘Staff from services across South Wales have been collecting big bags of eggs all week and have been thrilled with the amount we’ve been able to give them. We’re very grateful to everyone who donated eggs and helped those families who need it most in our communities. Happy Easter everyone!’
