Staff at Withybush General Hospital are fundraising for a new Puffin Garden at the Puffin PACU (Paediatric Ambultarory Car Unit) which is the newly named childrenās ward at the hospital.
A charity fun day will be held on Saturday May 13th between 10 a.m and 4 p.m at Haverfordwest RFC.
The Health Board regularly encourages healthy play and a new outdoor play area will be an important development for the play service team.
Sandra Jones, Play Service Manager for Hywel Dda University Health Board said:
āThe main focus of the Health Boardās Play Service is to encourage healthy play. This is achieved through the introduction of outdoor space for children, young people and their families to access fresh air and a place to exercise. This needs to be a safe child friendly environment for play recreation and relaxation. Within the Puffin Garden at Withybush Hospital there will be a sensory area with flowers and herbs to introduce colour, smell and touch for all children and young people regardless of ability. To achieve this valuable garden, we need the help of the people of Pembrokeshire.ā
The fun day will include plenty of activities including stalls, bouncy castles and a car boot sale at Ā£5 per car. All proceeds will go towards developing the new garden.
