Llanelli Market traders get behind choir on BGT

Hannah Seward, from Burry Port, was the main soloist of a group of schoolgirls that received unanimous praise from judges, including Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, for their touching rendition of the classic, Nessun Dorma.
 
Hannah is the granddaughter of well-known market fruiterers Will and Audrey Seward, and daughter of Steven and Nicola, who are also familiar faces on the popular market stall.
 
The 17-year-old, Strade schoolgirl is part of the 17-strong group known as Angelicus Celtis, that gave a stunning performance with Simon Cowell saying “I’ve heard this song a lot. But this was, in my opinion, the most beautiful ever. It really touched me and I thought it was sensational.”
The choir also brought the audience to their feet as they dedicated their performance to their committed conductor John Hywel Williams, who Simon Cowell later called on stage.
Angelicus Celtis practise together just once a week for an hour and were formed a little over a year ago by husband and wife John Hywel Williams and his late wife Jean.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s markets manager, Amanda Davies said: “We’re so proud of Hannah and the whole group after such a fantastic performance on Saturday night. The Seward family are the talk of the town today and we would like to wish Hannah and the group the very best of luck in the next round – all the traders here will be rooting for them.”
Mr and Mrs Williams had been leading children’s choirs together as husband and wife for more than 50 years before coming up with the idea of developing Angelicus Celtis from the ranks of the Hywel Girls’ Choir & Hywel Boy Singers.
Angelicus Celtis now go on to next round of the Britain’s Got Talent. The praise came thick and fast for the girls from the three other judges as well as Simon Cowell.
Amanda Holden added: “You are the most lovely bunch of girls. The harmonies were gorgeous and you’ve done Wales proud.”
