Representatives of Carmarthenshire County Council, including Leader Cllr Emlyn Dole and Chief Executive Mark James, visit the site of the new Seaside School, in Llanelli.

WORK is progressing on the new school for pupils in the Seaside area of Llanelli.
Ysgol Pen Rhos is due to open its doors in Spring 2018, and will cater for 420 pupils plus 60 nursery places.
Local contractors TRJ are carrying out the work on site at the former Draka site in Copperworks Road.
Ysgol Pen Rhos was officially established in September 2016 to replace the former Copperworks infants and nursery, and Lakefield primary schools.
Pupils will remain in the Copperworks and Lakefield buildings until the new school has been completed.
Ysgol Pen Rhos will be a new dual stream, bilingual community primary, offering education through English or Welsh to children aged between three and 11.
A new headteacher, Joe Cudd, formerly of Ysgol Maes y Morfa, was appointed and took up his post at the start of term.
The new school building is being delivered through Carmarthenshire County Council’s Modernising Education Programme, with funding through the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools initiative.
Education director Gareth Morgans said: “It is good to see the two schools formally coming together, and establishing the new Ysgol Pen Rhos.
“Progress also continues on the new building which will provide the modern facilities and the right kind of learning environment the children need.
“It will also help meet the increasing demand for bilingual primary education in this area.”
