Over 100 schoolchildren across Carmarthenshire have been showcasing their sporting skills.
A record 112 pupils turned out to compete against each other at The Disability Sport Wales Indoor Athletics Development Day held at Llanelli Leisure Centre.
The children took part in a number of disciplines including the shot, chest press, javelin, target throw, slalom and hurdles throughout the day.
Certificates were given to all the pupils who competed in the annual event, now in its ninth year.
Sabby Davies, of Myrddin Special Unit won the Hanuš Weisl Memorial Award.
Year 9 Coedcae pupils helped out at each station and encouraged everyone to attain their best time and distance.
Carmarthenshire Council’s disability sport officer, Lisa Pudner said: “It was a great day and the children had a lot of fun. It was so encouraging to see more schools taking part this year and enjoying competing against each other.”
The late Hanuš Weisl was Lisa Pudner’s orthopaedic surgeon until his retirement. He encouraged her to take up sport which led to her competing in the Sydney 2000 Paralympics. His family donated the trophy.
