Carmarthenshire Libraries are launching their Better with Books campaign as part of Health Information Week.
The campaign provides self-help books to children and young people to help them deal with emotional issues and give additional guidance.
The books include topics such as, bereavement, divorce, bullying, low self- esteem, depression, puberty and anger.
The launch, which is open to everyone, will take place at Llanelli Library on Thursday July 6 from 10am-12pm with organisations such as Flying Start, Homestart, Actif Sir Gȃr and Basic Skills attending, providing a fantastic networking opportunity, a chance to share leaflets and information, and to gain a better understanding of what is available throughout the county.
Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for culture, sport and tourism Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths said: “Children and young people in particular may find it difficult to talk about their emotions.
“Reading a book may help them understand their feelings and give them advice on how to cope. There are also books available to help guide parents and guardians.”
