The Festival of Learning takes place around the UK this week (June 19 – 25), when the spotlight falls on the opportunities for adults to increase their learning and skills.

Festival of Learning (previously Adult Learners’ Week) is the biggest national celebration of lifelong learning.

Carmarthenshire County Council is taking the opportunity to promote the courses it has available, including Learning Welsh, English and Maths GCSE, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and British Sign Language (BSL).

People can find out about the courses available by visiting the adult learning section of the council’s website, www.carmarthenshire.gov.wales, or by calling in to their local Education Centre for more information.

Cllr Glynog Davies, Executive Board Member for Education, said: “Our adult education courses provide a great opportunity to meet new people, gain new skills and build your confidence.

“Why not sign up for September, and get the qualifications you have always wanted to progress in your desired field.”

Carmarthenshire County Council is taking part in social media campaigns, which can be followed using the Twitter hashtag #lovetolearn on @CarmsCouncil.
