Children and young people supported by Action for Children services in Swansea and Llanelli have enjoyed a flight of a lifetime from Swansea Airport as Cambrian Flying Club flew them over the stunning Gower coast and Swansea Bay thanks to the charity, Aviation without Borders and their National Fly Kids Day initiative.

Aiden Murray, 11 from Cross Hands said: ‘The flight was amazing, I’ve never experienced anything like it before. The best bit was going over the Gower beaches and taking photos. I enjoyed everything about it and want to go up again.’

The youngsters were drawn from Swansea’s Skills for Living service that aims to improve the emotional and social well-being of young people as they negotiate the challenging issues when leaving care and Carmarthen’s Family and Community team, based in Llanelli, which provides early years and family support throughout Carmarthenshire.

Sue Marsden, Practice Team Lead for the Family and Community team, said: ‘It was wonderful to see all the children and young people enjoy the flights so much. It’s always exciting to fly anywhere but to be taken out over the Gower and Swansea Bay was a real treat. We’re so grateful to Aviation without Borders and the Cambrian Flying Club for this opportunity. They will never forget it.’
