Carmarthenshire has hosted another successful summer visit by HRH the Prince of Wales.
The visit started with Prince Charles unveiling a new stained glass window, on the theme of Welsh legends, created by local people at Myddfai Community Hall on Sunday.
Myddfai is famous for its history and heritage, most notably the ‘Physicians of Myddfai’ which are reflected in the design of the new stained glass window along with other symbols of Welsh culture.
The window has been produced by a group of local people, working in conjunction with Brecon Beacons Sustainable Development Fund and two stained glass artists, Lesley Griffith from Myddfai and Bernice Benton from Llanwrtyd Wells, who both work as volunteers at the Myddfai Centre.
Carmarthenshire County Council Chair Cllr Irfon Jones, who attended the Myddfai visit and met the Prince, said: “It was wonderful to have the Prince of Wales unveil the window which featured local themes and was made by local people.”
Yesterday (Monday) Prince Charles attended a ‘Harmony in Food and Farming’ conference at Llandovery College, inspired by the Prince’s ‘Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World’ and organised by the Sustainable Food Trust at Llandovery College. The Llandovery conference explored how the principles described in the book can be applied to food and farming.
