BE one of the first to enjoy a virtual tour of Llansteffan Castle and its picturesque surroundings at the Royal Welsh Show this week.

Visitors to the Carmarthenshire marquee at the show can experience a whole host of legendary themed activities.

As this year’s host county, Carmarthenshire will have a range of events taking place throughout the week.

On the Thursday, visitors can discover some of Carmarthenshire’s greatest stories as part of Visit Wales’ international ‘Year of Legend’ campaign.

Delve in to Carmarthenshire’s spellbinding history through viewing new videos which provide plenty of ideas of things to see and do.

Activities will include demonstrations from Carmarthenshire Farmhouse Group who will be cooking up a legendary home grown breakfast.

Learn about Lord Rhys who was the ruler of the Kingdom of Deheubarth in South Wales from 1155 to 1197, through a one-man theatre show.

There will be plenty to keep young children entertained at the marquee including a legendary dress up box and crowns to colour in.

Executive Board Member for Culture, Sport and Tourism Cllr Peter Hughes-Griffiths said: “The Royal Welsh Show is a perfect opportunity to showcase the wealth of legendary attractions and things to do in Carmarthenshire.

“There will be plenty to see and do at the council marquee and I urge visitors to come and learn about the fascinating history of this wonderful part of the country.”

The Royal Welsh Show is being held at the showground in Llanelwedd from July 24 to 27.
