Plaid Cymru Assembly Member Simon Thomas has described a meeting with UK Business Secretary Greg Clark about the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon as useful.
Simon Thomas, Chair of the National Assembly’s Finance Committee along with Montgomeryshire AM Russell George, Chair of the Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee met with Secretary of State Greg Clark MP this morning in London.
Mid and West AM, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Climate Change and Rural Affairs Simon Thomas said:
“The meeting was useful. We had a fair hearing from Greg Clark as we explained the benefits of the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon.
“It is evident that the UK Secretary for State is serious about moving towards cutting carbon emissions. For individual projects we understand the Westminster Government is looking at all the figures.
“It is important as Assembly Members we made the case for this investment for Wales and the meeting has ensured the Westminster Government has listened to the positive messages we put forward.”
