Scarlets welcomed winger Tom Prydie to Parc y Scarlets last month as he joins the Guinness PRO12 Champions ahead of the new season.

Prydie, like his new teammates, will be competing in a new-look Guinness PRO14 championship in 2017-18 and the 25-year-old international is raring to go in new colours.

Speaking about his move to West Wales Prydie said; “The Scarlets are league winners and they play a great brand of rugby which will hopefully suit my game and the way I play. It was too good an opportunity to turn down and came at the perfect time.”

With weeks of pre-season under his belt at Parc y Scarlets Prydie is excited for the challenges ahead; “I’m loving it with the Scarlets and it’s great to be in a new environment. I spoke to Wayne Pivac and when I knew he was interested in me bringing here, it was a no-brainer.

“I’ve had a long pre-season and my body is good. I can’t wait to get going now because I’ve had six or seven weeks preparation. It’s something I’ve needed. At the moment my short-term goal is to play as much as I can for the Scarlets and get a jersey there. It’s exciting and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’m determined to take my chance here.”

“It’s a fantastic environment in the camp at the Scarlets and everyone is buzzing at the moment. That breeds success and as you can see from last season it’s clearly working.”

Scarlets will get their pre-season action underway with an inter-regional clash against a Premiership Select side at Llandovery’s Church Bank on Saturday 12th August, kick-off 4pm.
